Facilities are very basic - long drop toilets.

Camping Policy:

1. Maximum length of stay is now 7 nights in any consecutive 14 night period
    (Camping in Summer is from Labour Weekend to the end of Daylight Savings, or Easter weekend, whichever is the latest)
2. Closed for camping during Winter (rest of the year)
3. No open fires
4. Do not damage trees or plants, or disturb the soil
5. All vehicles are to keep to formed roads and parking areas
6. Rights of other users of the reserve are to be respected. Campsites should be reasonably quiet after 10 p.m. (except New Years Eve)

Note: The river flow and height varies throughout the day as the demands for hydro electricity are met.

REID'S FARM
This is a FREE Summer Camping Ground on the banks of the Waikato River. It is a popular base for kayaking. The campground is administered by Taupo District Council.

This campsite is in danger of closing down because of abuse by its users (littering, vandalism, etc). Please do not abuse the site so it can remain open to campers for generations to come.
